Lago di Endine, Bergamo – Italy

Lago di Endine is very much a green lake. What do I mean by green? This is a small lake very close to Bergamo, and in fact probably the closest and easiest to get to for a swim or a quick paddle. The lake is very small in comparison with others in Lombardy. Motor boats are forbidden, so swimming in the lake is very safe and many families come for picnics and days out all around on both sides. Parking is usually not a problem at some of the beach cafés or in public parking spots on the street. As with any tourist areas it is always good to come early in the day to get a good spot both for parking and close to the lake with your towels etc. We have visited this lake many times as a family but it’s quite a peaceful place in off-peak times to enjoy alone. Facilities are great and there are wonderful pizza restaurants and a lot more all around the lake. Well worth a visit!
