Lerici / La Spezia / Porto Venere / Boat Rental
These are some of the easiest places to reach the sea in the north of Italy. A couple of hours from Milan, and you can reach the sea. Although it’s not the Amalfi coast, it’s pretty impressive. Porto Venere is a stunning and picturesque town, situated right on the sea with wonderful, colourful buildings and a really lovely vibe. A wonderful experience is to hire a small boat, which is not too expensive if you are in a group. You can take the boat from somewhere like Lerici or La Spezia, and explore in your own group, which is simply wonderful. You can stop in some of the small marinas,…

Water Sports day and Lunch on Lake Garda
Lake Garda is a fantastic place to be. You can be surrounded by wonderful people, fantastic restaurants, theme parks, and so much more. Due to the huge size of the lake everything feels a bit more free and easy and the rules seem to be a bit more relaxed. There is plenty of space for everybody to enjoy themselves, whether sailing, paddle boarding, swimming or using a jet ski/boat etc. We took the jet ski out with a group of friends for a watersports day, where we were able to take our huge inflatable ride on toy that we tow behind us while we go. This gave us lots of…

Lake Lecco / Como – Watersports / Jet Ski
Lake Lecco and Como are all part of the same water and together they form a huge upside down Y on the map. First of all, we can tell you that there is so much to do on the lake. In our opinion the Como side is more posh, and generally will cost more money to do things or visit restaurants etc. This is because everybody knows Como. Due to location the other side of the lake suits us more and generally it just feels a bit more normal. We usually enter the lake south of Lecco and for the jet ski or medium size boats and ribs, have found…

LE FORNACI – BOAT / JET SKI LAUNCHING
It can be really difficult to find somewhere to launch a small boat or jet ski on Lake Garda. There are many public launching areas, certainly around the south of the lake that are often unusable. Generally this is because the water level can be so low compared to previous years and some of the ends of the launching ramps don’t even make it to the water. The most frequent places that we have successfully launched have been on the south of the lake near Sirmione. Le Fornaci is a little diamond. There is a fantastic cafe, parking and a crazy small boat launching ramp. If you were going with…

Lago di Endine, Bergamo – Italy
Lago di Endine is very much a green lake. What do I mean by green? This is a small lake very close to Bergamo, and in fact probably the closest and easiest to get to for a swim or a quick paddle. The lake is very small in comparison with others in Lombardy. Motor boats are forbidden, so swimming in the lake is very safe and many families come for picnics and days out all around on both sides. Parking is usually not a problem at some of the beach cafés or in public parking spots on the street. As with any tourist areas it is always good to come…
