Two Wheels on tour… UK to Italy
What a simply splendid trip on two wheels. As a family who has always loved motorcycles and scooters we thought it was a great opportunity for two of us to make the long trip on two wheels. We waited for the weather to change and picked a wonderful period in April. Fortunately for us April showers were off the cards and it was sunshine and modest temperatures all the way. This is a highly recommended trip and the idea was planted like a seed back at the end of 2022. I would never have imagined to make such a long trip on a scooter but this particular bike is a…

Road Trip Time… From Italy 🇮🇹 >>> South of France 🇫🇷 / San Tropez / Cannes / Monaco 🇲🇨 🏎️
What a great experience, travelling from near Milan, in Italy, to the coast, and then following the coastline all the way to St Tropez before returning with stop offs at these fantastic places! There’s a lot of wealth and expensive tourism in these resorts with high-end, luxury stores, and amazing hotels. But! You can do this part of Europe on a budget. There are many excellent Airbnb opportunities and reasonably priced accommodation through sites like Booking. Look out for our individual posts and we will soon also share some of our wonderful superyacht footage over on https://deepblueimage.com/

Travelling with Dogs (EU)
Taking dogs on holiday can be a wonderful thing. The current problem is travelling from the UK at the moment after Brexit, where animals need a pet passport. Sadly, this is really expensive and difficult because to return to the UK, you might also need to get your pets checked in a foreign country. However, you can do so much more abroad with your lovely pets and especially dogs, for example… In Italy, and also France, dogs are often welcome in restaurants and sometimes even supermarkets if they are well behaved. For us, travelling with our lovely pets is something quite magical, and it’s wonderful to be able to enjoy…

La Tana dell Orso – Ponte di Legno / Incredible Nature Spa
The name of the hotel translated to English is “The Bear’s Lair”. We previously stopped for lunch at this hotel and restaurant in 2021 but didn’t have the option of using all the facilities or staying. The hotel is just a stone’s throw north of the town and is actually on the Ski Piste which is also the Mountain Bike Trail! This means that if you stay in the hotel, technically it’s ski in / ski out, which is incredible. They have storage for mountain bikes and I also assume for ski equipment when you’re guests in the hotel. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, so please check out our photos…

Autumn Dolomites and Ponte di Legno Experience – Via Ferrata
With the summer over and winter slowly creeping in, there are still many fantastic experiences to be had up in the north of Italy. October and November are typically very quiet periods in the tourist areas with the summer holidays long gone and the ski season still some distance away. Prices of accommodation and activities can be lower and you can find yourself some real bargains travelling during this period. Our latest excursion takes us through the Dolomites traveling on the wonderful scenic roads through the mountain passes. There is a lot to see, and for those that enjoy trekking and the great outdoors there is a myriad of things…

Pisa
As a child, when someone mentioned Italy I would immediately think “Leaning Tower of Pisa”. I’m sure I was not the only one! So with memories like this, it’s always been a dream to visit and see this wonder for myself, and of course to share this experience with others. The tower is set with the cathedral in Piazza del Duomo which is stunning. These historic building are an incredible representation of architecture and capabilities back in this period. The tower of 56m took an incredible 200 years to build! The city of Pisa itself is relatively “normal” with the highlight being the Piazza del Duomo and this being the…

Italy – A world of adventure!
With the Alps in the north, stunning coastlines and beautiful terrain in between, Italy to me feels like a unique place to explore where adventure is always just a stones throw away. Not to mention the lakes, the history, the people and their culture! I have been traveling in Italy for since 2018 which may not sound like much, but I have been fortunate enough to experience a lot in the period with over 50 visits ands lots of journeys by camper van and internal flights to experience as much of this beautiful country as possible. Needless to say that I have completely fell in love and Italy will always…
